this woman who wrote about her experience dating my dad occasionally tweets @ me and im like…. Who the Fuck are U
like to clarify, she published a book about the 52 men shes dated, and one of the pages was about my dad, and in it she talked about me and my sister as toddlers, and referred to me as the uglier of his children
Target is where you go when you’re gonna try to restructure your entire life with 100 bucks, and you’re counting on a shoe rack, thumbtacks, a whiteboard, and new stationary to do it.
Everyone in here is looking for forgiveness and they’re trying to find it in a tasteful desk lamp and minimalist day planner
hardest thing to learn during recovery is….. some of your misery is your own fault. you have to actively choose to stop wallowing in your own pain & start to recover. that means stop being self deprecating, start taking care of yourself, start eating healthy, start taking your hygiene seriously, even if it’s hard. & it is hard! but you must.
here is your gentle reminder that there are dandelions growing through cracks in the sidewalk. there is a fence lizard on the porch who is growing a new tail. there are trees growing through an abandoned house, branches tearing through the ceiling, ferns carpeting the floor. there is life pushing forward, pushing through.
The innuendo is thick. When a yearbook editor juxtaposes photos like this, we do have to wonder whether it’s as deliberate as it looks. By the way, the Christian yearbooks invariably have the best innuendo. In general, the more private the college, the more homoerotic the photos. Military colleges also ooze with homoeroticism, obviously.
We also need to stop saying she’s “free”. She isn’t. She still has 10yrs probation, mandatory community service hours, and requirements for maintaining a job in order to remain unincarcerated. She’s been released from a physical prison only to enter the open air prison so many people in the carceral state are confined to.
This shouldn’t be over. She should be fully pardoned. It’s unconscionable that they can choose to incarcerate her again for any minor infractions they deem in violation of her probation. This release shouldn’t be conditional, and right now it is.
